One of the best aspects of spring is being able to enjoy the outdoors in warmer temperatures again. After being cooped up inside during the winter, kids will be eager to try some of these activities on our Spring Camping To-Do List.

Enjoy the Water

Warmer temperatures mean being able to get on the water again. Whether in motorized or non-motorized vehicle, spending a day on the water is a great way to spend time outdoors. Renting canoes and kayaks is a fun way to explore the area.

Take a Nature Walk

Children will love nature if you teach them to appreciate it. On your walk, they can learn about trees, plants, flowers, and wildlife along the way, while getting some great exercise. Pack a picnic and enjoy lunch in the great outdoors, too.

Ride Horses

Spend a day at the stables. Kids will find a day with horses to be a fun adventure. Trails can take you past some beautiful sites that might not otherwise be seen.

Go Fishing

If you are going to try this activity with kids, the key is to choose a spot that is loaded with fish so they do not get bored. If you are able to see the fish beneath the surface, you know your fishing trip will be successful. Kids of all ages will be thrilled to feel a tug on their line for the first time.

Rent Fun Cycles

The entire family will enjoy exploring Saco River Camping Area on our Fun Cycles, sleek and low recumbent bikes. We even have banana peel cycles for the little ones.

Roast Marshmallows

Start the 2016 camping season off with dinner by the campfire, followed by roasted marshmallows for dessert.
